  1. I've had my eye on this one for a while now. It's a great old house, but it's size makes moving it prohibitively expensive from the various quotes that I've gotten. I wonder why there's a sudden desire to move it from its' current location? It'd be a loss of a bit of history for that tiny village.

    1. The house is fairly close to the church and shares a parking lot with it. I've been told the church owns an adjacent property which they will sell for the house to be moved to if the potential buyer doesn't want to move the house too far away.

  2. This isn't a real estate question, but I'm hoping you may be able to help me. My grandfather was born in St. Ann's Church in 1879. They were living in Lot 31 at the time. Would this be the same St. Ann's. I live near Boston and am trying to fill in some missing branches of my family tree.

    1. Yes, this is the church located in Emyvale. There's another St. Ann's church in the community called "Saint Ann" (Lot 22) near Cavendish. Have you found the Island Registry for researching PEI family and history? www.islandregister.com
You might find your families name in this same website under PEI Linages on the left http://www.islandregister.com/gindex.html

  3. Does anyone know if there were any assessments/inspections done to make sure the house is sound enough to move?

  5. Update - I have had many inquiries asking if this house is still for sale. I don't know - I have no connection with, or know anyone who belongs, to this Parish. However, I called two church numbers list in an online search - the first got the Diocese of Charlottetown who didn't know what I was talking about. The other was a number to a private residents who were surprised to learn their new phone number once belonged to the Parish. I also sent a few emails and had one response saying they weren't sure if the house was sold but observed the porch had been removed. The house isn't listed for sale anymore. I just checked MLS.ca to see if there was a listing under a new realtor - nothing. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!
