Here are a few photos I took on June 28, 2012.
Above/Below: The house sat atop a south facing hill with a distant view of the beautiful Montrose River. This view faces west and Rte. 152.
The house dates approximately back to the 1870-80's and features a steep gabled dormer on the front with two square bay windows below. There was a kitchen wing to the rear.

"PHOTO REMOVED OUT OF RESPECT FOR FAMILY'S LOSS"
Unless it degraded fast it looks re-storable to me. Then again PEI seems to be loathing anything that is older, or aka what tourists come to PEI expecting.
ReplyDeleteYeah, its a hard go for alot of these old houses. This house hadn't been lived in for more than 20 years - and in a day when you can buy a good house in the area in the $70,000 range home owners aren't interested in putting any money into a major reno - too bad, wish it was different!
ReplyDeleteNot only did the family ask the fire department to remove any pictures of the controlled burn from social media/internet sites, but the photographer was also asked to have them removed!
DeleteThat was my Grandmother. Annie Pridham’s childhood home. I have pictures of “the farm” in our family archives. Would love to come to PEI and visit sometime.
