Howlan School

This old school is located at 647 Howlan Road, Rte. 143 - just down the road from Rte. 2 and St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

The old school has stood firm since the early 1970s when school amalgamation began and carried through to the end of that decade.

I don't know much about this old school, however, it's large structure with multi-pane windows and eave returns would indicate it was built amoung the earlier schools - possibly 1870's.

The windows are very large 6-over-6 style, single hung style.
