I went out to photograph this house the other day to nominate it for a Heritage Preservation Award. The farmstead was originally owned by a MacLeod family. A few years ago a young family moved in and started to repaired and improved the old house - first they put in a new foundation, new windows, etc. and this past summer new paint over the cedar shingles. It looks great!
The house is a center dormer style with a small addition. This style of house was common during the 1850-60's.
The house is located on Rte. 2 Highway in Springvale, which is located between Brookfield and Milton Station.
A few of the old outbuildings and barns remain on the property.
